ZenCog opened in 2009 near downtown Jacksonville in the community of Riverside.

ZenCog is a down-to-earth bike shop focusing on a wide range of commuter/urban/touring bikes and also carrying selections of mountain, road, e-bikes, children’s, bmx, and more.

Despite their proximity to downtown, they live up to the ‘Zen’ in ZenCog, priding themselves on making biking accessible to everyone in an unpretentious way – no lycra or clip pedals necessary although they are totally fine with those too. They carry bikes for the whole spectrum of ages from toddlers to adults, and have solutions for those with mobility issues.

In addition to bikes and accessories, they offer a robust range of services. The shop boasts a team of highly experienced staff members who live and breathe biking and other adventurous lifestyles, including some who build custom bike frames and bikes.

You aren’t just a number to them. They give custom evaluations for your bike and repair needs based on your unique riding style and requirements.

Owner Garf Cooper is immersed in the Jacksonville and cycling community and is personally involved in a weekly volunteer-run family-friendly ride called R.A.M. Ride. He is also the founder of Honeypot Bike Collective, a non-profit that refurbishes donated used bikes to provide affordable transportation for people in need.

They care about and enhance the cycling community by connecting their customers and website visitors with many resources including a list organized rides spanning a range of experience levels, cycling clubs and associations, and local businesses and events that cyclists and everyone in Jacksonville can appreciate.

Used as well as New

ZenCog often has select used bikes for sale, space permitting, on a consignment basis. They are picky about the used bikes they choose to sell, which is a good thing for customers who want quality no matter what form of bike they buy.

They put their money where their mouth is regarding the environment. ZenCog is a drop-off location for an e-bike battery recycling initiative called Call2Recycle, helping to ensure e-waste is properly recycled.
